Graduates Service staff
Shaylah Counts is the Graduate Engagement Advocate Counselor at LEAD Charter School. Shaylah joined NOYN/LEAD family in 2018, to help support Newark's young people in their transition after high school. She earned a Bachelors in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology from Rider University and is currently pursuing her MS in Counseling at Barry University. Shaylah is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. When she is not serving the young people at LEAD, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, mentoring teens, traveling, coaching track and field, eating different foods and binge Netflix.
Rana Hamed is the Graduate and Career Pathways Manager at the Newark Opportunity Youth Network. She has worked with youth and non-profits for more than 8 years. She joined the LEAD community to support, mentor and guide young people to experiences and opportunities that can set them on a sustainable career path. She earned a Bachelors of Arts in Social Sciences with a concentration in Psychology from Seton Hall University. She also served as an AmeriCorp Member for 2 years.
