Board Grievance Policy
The LEAD Charter School Board of Trustees meets regularly in open session in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act (N.J.S.A. 10:4-6 et seq.). All meetings are open to the public. Any individual or group may bring a complaint to the Board of Trustees. If the Board does not adequately address the complaint, it may be presented to the Commissioner of Education for investigation.

LEAD Charter School issues Requests for Proposals for goods and services in accordance with New Jersey procurement requirements. Active RFPs are listed below. All submissions must follow the instructions provided in each notice.

Vended Meals (2026–2029)
LEAD Charter School is seeking proposals for vended meal delivery and receipt for the 2026–2029 school years. The selected vendor must comply with USDA meal patterns and regulations as well as New Jersey Department of Agriculture guidelines.To request specifications, contact Business Administrator Brian Falkowski at bids@sboffice.com.

In accordance with New Jersey's School Lead Testing Law (N.J.S.A. 26:2-2006 et seq.), LEAD Charter School conducts regular testing of drinking water outlets at both campuses. Results are made available to the public below.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords parents and eligible students (those over 18 years of age) certain rights with respect to education records. These rights include:
- The right to inspect and review the student's education records within 45 days of a request.
- The right to request the amendment of education records that the parent or eligible student believes are inaccurate or misleading.
- The right to consent to disclosures of personally identifiable information contained in the student's education records, except to the extent that FERPA authorizes disclosure without consent.
- The right to file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Education concerning alleged failures to comply with FERPA requirements.

LEAD Charter School is a free, public charter school operated as a program of the Newark Opportunity Youth Network. The school is open to all eligible students on a space-available basis. When applications exceed available seats, a lottery is conducted in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:11.
Applications are accepted on a year-round rolling basis.
